Mindful Breathing in Labour

Iā€™m often asked "How will I know when to push?" or "Will you tell me how to push when it's time?ā€. To be honest, you should ideally direct your own breathing when in labour. It's thought that only you know how much effort to bear down with and for how long.

However, understanding the rationale for mindful breathing in labour may present you with the comfort and confidence you need, thus avoiding people directing you to push (or not push), if not needed.
